The honest woodcutter ⛏️

                 Once upon a time in a quaint village, there lived a humble woodcutter named Jack. He toiled tirelessly each day, chopping wood to make a living for his family. Despite his hard work, he barely earned enough to make ends meet. 

            One day, while cutting wood near a river, Jack's axe slipped from his hands and fell into the water. Devastated, he sat on the riverbank, worried about how he would manage without his only tool. Suddenly, the water shimmered, and an old man emerged, holding a gleaming golden axe in his hand. 

 "Is this yours?" the old man asked. 

 "No, that's not mine," replied Jack truthfully. 

            The old man smiled, appreciating Jack's honesty, and vanished back into the river. Moments later, the water shimmered again, and this time, a silver axe appeared. The old man asked the same question, and again, Jack responded truthfully, "No, that's not mine." 

              The old man was pleased once more and disappeared into the river. Finally, the water shimmered for the third time, and a familiar sight appeared – Jack's own iron axe. Overjoyed, he exclaimed, "Yes, that's mine!" 

               The old man was immensely impressed by Jack's honesty and integrity. As a reward for his truthfulness, the old man gifted Jack not only the iron axe but also the golden and silver axes. 

                 Overwhelmed by his new found wealth, Jack returned home with the three axes and shared his incredible story with his family. They were amazed by the kindness of the old man and the honesty of their father. 

                  Word spread quickly about the honest woodcutter and his magical axes. People from neighboring villages came to hear his tale. Many dishonest woodcutters became envious and decided to try their luck by the river, hoping for a similar reward. 

                  However, when they lied about owning the golden and silver axes, they were met with disappointment and empty hands. The old man only appeared to those who spoke the truth.                      The moral of the story is that honesty is a priceless virtue. It not only brings forth unexpected rewards but also earns the respect and admiration of others. The tale of the honest woodcutter teaches us that honesty is a treasure worth more than all the riches in the world.
